The following joint statement was issued by Senators Bryan Townsend and Nicole Poore, co-prime sponsors of Senate Bill 12 (formerly SB 6, which was stricken and replaced due to a technical correction.)

“On behalf of our Senate colleagues, we are pleased to bring forward long overdue reform to the pre-authorization process with the bipartisan passage of Senate Bill 12. This legislation will ensure that health insurance carriers operate with greater transparency, timeliness, and accountability.

These reforms are not just about removing red tape — they are about advocating for patients, their families, and the health care providers who can now focus on providing quality healthcare. We are passing this important legislation to our colleagues in the House, and we hope they will work swiftly to send it to Governor Meyer.”
