“According to the Congressional Budget Office, H.R. 1 — legislation that was championed by the Trump Administration and narrowly passed by Congress earlier this summer — will cut federal spending on Medicaid and Affordable Care Act marketplaces by about $1 trillion over the next decade. This means millions of Americans — specifically, thousands of Delawareans — will lose health care coverage,” said Sen. Pinkney, following the passage of H.R. 1 in July.
“While these federal funding cuts have not yet gone into effect, we must begin preparing Delaware patients, providers, and taxpayers now. Wednesday’s conversation will be the first of many, focusing first on the immediate impacts to medical providers and healthcare systems across the First State. Subsequent conversations will focus on patient access, health outcomes, mitigation strategies, and more.”
