House Bill 54

House Bill 54

The Office of Suicide Prevention was established in 2025 through the passage House Bill 54.

Introduced by Rep. Eric Morrison and co-sponsored by Sen. Spiros Mantzavinos and Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown, this legislation creates a comprehensive, centralized, and proactive approach to suicide prevention that can erase the stigma associated with mental health.

With the rising rates of suicide-related deaths in Delaware, this legislation offers more resources to Delawareans and increases the access to the help they need. With unanimous support from the members of the General Assembly, this lifesaving measure will be monumental in saving the lives of those who struggle with mental health.
