The 2024 Affordable Housing Production Task Force yielded many legislative solutions to increase the stock of affordable housing in Delaware. Sen. Russell Huxtable and Rep. Kendra Johnson, co-chairs of the task force, introduced and passed Senate Bill 150, which creates the Affordable Renting Housing Program (ARHP) within the Housing Development Fund.
The ARHP will provide loans to low-income households and families, which will expand access to safe and affordable housing for Delawareans. This plan creates a long-term permanent financing product for developers across our state, and allows Delaware to show support to low-income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
