House Bill 203

87% of American teens don’t understand finances – leaving them struggling during adulthood to budget, save for retirement, and maintain their household.

Senator Kyra Hoffner, along with Representative Jeff Hilovsky introduced House Bill 203 to their colleagues in the 153rd General Assembly. Known as the “Equity and Inclusion in Financial Literacy for All High School Students in Delaware Act,” this legislation will make major changes within schools across the state that open the opportunity for teenagers to learn more about their finances that will set them up for a future of success.

HB 203, mandating a minimum ½ credit course to financial literacy, will open the doors for our schools to collaborate with various enterprises throughout the state that will enhance student experiences with learning through real-life examples, and open discussions within the classroom.
