WHAT: Senator Darius Brown will speak at the North Wilmington Public Library Campus Hub as part of the American Library Association’s (ALA) Delaware Library Tour. Organized by Margaret Sullivan Studio, the tour is a feature of the ALA’s Preconference and will parallel the ALA’s 2025 Annual Conference and Exhibition happening in Philadelphia. This conference brings together thousands of forward-thinking librarians from across the globe to explore the impact of libraries in our communities, and exchange innovative ideas on how to improve these facilities and create impactful action.
Senator Brown will be joined by Margaret Sullivan, Dr. Annie Norman, Director of the Delaware Division of Libraries, and Jamar Rahming, Executive Director of the Wilmington Public Library for a presentation and discussion on recent investments, renovations, and programming initiatives at the North Wilmington Public Library Campus Hub.
Following the discussion, guests will enjoy lunch, potential live performances, and a guided tour of the library.
“Libraries are essential to our communities, and deserve to be recognized for the impact they have on our neighborhoods,” said Senator Darius Brown, representing the Second Senatorial District. “These spaces are designed for the people, offering vital resources, serving as a hub of information, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment. This week’s event highlights how the North Wilmington Public Library supports and uplifts constituents across my district, and demonstrates the necessary work our state has been doing to ensure these facilities remain open and accessible.”
