Senate Bill 267

Spiros Mantzavinos
Senate Bill 267

As chair of the Senate Banking, Business & Insurance Committee, Sen. Mantzavinos successfully passed legislation to help make prescription drugs more affordable for thousands of Delawareans.

Passed unanimously by both the Delaware Senate and House, Senate Bill 267 set new rules around copay coupons issued by drug makers and third-party entities to block health insurers and other companies from refusing to count the value of those discounts toward someone’s deductible or out-of-pocket limit.

By ensuring that copay coupons are counted toward a patient’s deductible or out-of-pocket limit, Delaware joined more than a dozen other states that ensure its residents are able to enjoy the full benefit of coupon assistance programs that are supposed to help them afford their medications.
