Advisory: Senator Harris McDowell to Host Public Stakeholder Meeting on Senate Bill 250 in Wilmington on Saturday

June 18, 2020

Senator Harris McDowell, D-Wilmington, will host a public stakeholder meeting on Saturday, June 20, to gather input from the energy sector, the environmental community and the public at-large on Senate Bill 250, a proposed update to the Delaware Renewable Energy Standard Act of 2005.

Saturday’s meeting will be held in person at Delaware Technical Community College’s Wilmington Campus, 300 N. Orange St., in Wilmington at 10:30 a.m.

There will be limited capacity for individuals who wish to attend Saturday’s stakeholder meeting in person due to the Governor’s COVID-19 restriction on social distancing. Attendees representing public office, Delmarva Power and Light, Delaware Electric Cooperative, Delaware Municipal Electric corporation, or representatives of stakeholder organizations will be given priority.

Each person will be allotted 1-3 minutes (depending on time) to discuss SB 250.

Saturday’s stakeholder meeting will be followed by a virtual meeting of the Senate Energy Committee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday that will be broadcast to the Senate YouTube channel.

Anyone wishing to offer input at either the Saturday stakeholder meeting or the Monday committee hearing is asked to register by emailing SB250_PublicComment@delaware.gov
