Sen. Jack Walsh helped to bring hundreds of good-paying, new jobs to Delaware by creating a Site Readiness Fund that is helping to convert abandoned commercial and industrial sites for reuse by new employers.
Passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, Senate Bill 127 created a new mechanism for Delaware to offer grants, loans and other economic assistance to qualified businesses and local governments that invest in building, renovating or improving infrastructure for sites that will attract new companies or expand existing businesses.
In just its first two years, the Site Readiness Fund was used to help advance 14 economic development projects in Claymont, Dover, Georgetown, Frankford, Harrington, Middletown, Milford, Newark, New Castle, Selbyville, Wilmington and Wyoming.
